Meeting against falsification of election results

On November 15, 2015 second round of election of the Mayor of the Kryvyi Rih city took a place. In six districts of the city “Samopomich” party candidate Yuri Milobog has won. But in seventh district current Mayor Yuri Vilkul (member of Opposition Block (ex- Party of Regions)) has won. City election committee of Kryvyi Rih declared preliminary results – Yuri Vilkul has won with 752 votes advantage. On November 16 the committee to declare official results and to consider claims about fouls during election process and votes counting has been in a session. Deputies of Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine also have been at the session. The committee played a time and didn’t hurry to consider the claims but quickly claimed about new deputies of City Council and a new Mayor. During this near the building of City Council about 1000 citizens  gathered. They wanted a honest and clear votes counting. Also they in opposed Yuri Vilkul. About 300 policemen secured the building. In the crowd were seen so-called “titushky” and riot police in the backyard of City Council.

Session of the election committee lasted till 6 a.m. of next day. In the morning at the session of City Council of Kryvyi Rih the Head of election committee Pavlo Hyvel (member of Opposition Block) declared Yuri Vilkul as Mayor of Kryvyi Rih city.

On February 20, 2015 in Kyiv and many other cities were held Memorial events devoted to Heavenly Hundred – anti-government protesters who were killed during the bloodiest part and culmination of the EuroMaidan Revolution. (Gallery)

Poroshenko’s pre-election campaign.

Petro Poroshenko attended Krivoy Rog during his Ukrainian pre-election tour. A meeting with voters was held in front of «Metallurg» stadium on May 17, 2014. Also at the stage appeared ex-minister of  Internal Affairs Yuri Lutsenko, «Bat’kivschyna»’s deputy Mykola Tomenko and French public intellectual and author Bernard-Henry Levy. Petro Poroshenko was accompanied by his wife Marina.
